Hello AAO!

The final Off The Record of 2026, closing out issue 42, is here!

The issue is available to AAO members here: https://aao-archivists.ca/otr-current-issues

In this issue, Leah Veerasammy writes about bringing Black Archives to the classroom in “Honouring No. 2 Construction Battalion Through Their Communities,” and Shelley Respondek walks us through having a large panoramic photograph conserved off-site. This fall, OTR spotlights Fiona Enright, a recent graduate and Evidence Management Analyst at Consilio. From the AAO community, we have an update from the Toronto Area Archivists’ Group, which met up at Pauper’s Pub in September, and a callout for the AAO 2026 Conference Committee for a Technical Lead.

Submissions for 43.1 (Winter) are due before December 27, 2026. As always, we welcome any ideas or pitches from the community. We'd love to hear from you about any projects, problems, exhibits, or surprises in your respective archives!

We’ll see you in the New Year!
