Chapters and Special Interest Groups (SIGS)

Chapters

Chapters are a great way to connect with other archivists, share ideas and develop your professional skills. (SIGs) are small groups set up and organized by groups of archivists with a common mandate or interest. These groups meet regularly to discuss concerns or to plan special events.

AAO members receive free membership affiliation with a chapter organization. Please see the chapter pages for more information about the chapters, contact information, current regional news and event announcements.

Special Interest Groups

The AAO's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are small groups set up and organized by groups of archivists with a common mandate or interest. These groups meet regularly to discuss concerns or to plan special events.

Archivists with other common interests are encouraged to investigate setting up their own interest group.  If you need advice on how to do this, contact the AAO Board.
